Practice Operations Update: COVID-19

Dear Patients and Friends,

Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s Emergency Order 07-20 instructed all non-essential businesses in Miami-Dade County to close until further notice as of 9:00 p.m. on March 19, 2020. As our practice falls under a provision of this Emergency Order to exclude health care providers, we are allowed to remain open and maintain services to our patients.

However, we have decided that effective Friday, March 20, 2020, South Florida Integrative Medicine and Hugh Humphery, MD LLC will schedule only online tele-mental health services or telephone appointments for all patients until further notice (with exceptions for any patients in crisis or emergency conditions scheduled on a case-by-case basis.) Previously scheduled in-person appointments will be changed to Zoom or telephone on a week-by-week basis. We have taken this decision out of our social and medical responsibility to minimize person-to-person contact during this state of pandemic.

We are temporarily suspending in-person-only services such as all labs and our neurofeedback appointments.  We are also temporarily implementing reduced administrative staff time hours. Our reception staff and medical assistant will now be available daily Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until further notice. We have sent out notification to all current patients on our updated policies and procedures.

Please know we are still here for you. Our providers are reaching out to their current patients to check in at this time of heightened uncertainty. At this time of social distancing and uncertainty we are all cognizant of the need we all have for increased levels of support and empathy.  If you find you are in need of support, please reach out to us at 786-664-7810 or contact@southfloridaintegrativemed.com.
