Assessment Services
South Florida Integrative Medicine offers its patients a range of comprehensive and individualized evaluations.
Dr. Pamela Cohen, Psy.D., is a postdoctoral fellow for psychology and psychological assessment services at South Florida Integrative Medicine. She attended the University of Central Florida for her undergraduate education and Nova Southeastern University for her graduate studies, where she specialized in School Psychology. She received her Doctor of Psychology degree in 2022.
Dr. Cohen worked extensively with students and youth in both clinical and academic school settings throughout her graduate training tenure. She was accepted for a Practicum at the Mailman Segal Center for Human Development, Fort Lauderdale, where she administered assessments to children for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and Developmental Delays. She continued her clinical training with a graduate level intern placement at the Pleasantville Union Free School District in New York. There, she provided individual and group counseling therapy sessions for elementary-aged children, worked with families to support students’ social emotional needs, and provided social support services for students with IEPs.
Dr. Cohen’s education and training in both school psychology and psychological assessments is the foundation for her ongoing clinical work with children and adolescents through comprehensive psychological assessment to support their performance in school and overall psychological functioning. She has been dedicated to supporting students in all aspects of her professional education and training, focusing her graduate research on crisis intervention for student suicide and school violence, and presenting at local and national conferences about suicide-specific training for graduate students and best practices in suicidality assessment skills.
At our practice, Dr. Cohen provides assessments for young children through adults for giftedness, learning differences, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Cohen also provides therapy for children and adolescents using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals with presentations including ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders. Dr. Cohen greatly enjoys working with children and families and feels it is an honor to help young people achieve their full potential in school and beyond.
