Lysett Babocsai, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Lysett Babocsai, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who joined South Florida Integrative Medicine in 2019. Dr. Babocsai received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, Psychology Institute in 2008 and brings more than a decade of post-graduate clinical experience to patients of South Florida Integrative Medicine.

Dr. Babocsai specializes in working with children as young as 3 years old and up to 13 years of age, primarily to treat disruptive behavior disorders (including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and Conduct Disorder) with a cognitive-behavioral therapy approach. She has helped her patients and their families achieve successful outcomes through emphasizing proactive strategies and positive reinforcement, preferring to work with her patients in their own home- and school-based settings.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Babocsai maintains an active teaching affiliation with the University of Education Heidelberg, dividing her time between Miami and Heidelberg, Germany. Locally, Dr. Babocsai worked as a Behavioral Therapist at Florida International University’s Center for Children and Families from 2010 to 2014, conducting psycho-diagnostic and psycho-educational assessments and leading a variety of therapy groups.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Babocsai is a world traveler and values learning about diverse cultures and ways of life, through which she cultivates empathy that shines in her therapeutic approaches with patients. She is also an avid cyclist, practices yoga, and loves Miami’s beaches. She is fully bilingual in English and German.
