Seeking: Psychiatrist
We seek to hire a licensed Psychiatrist with experience in substance abuse diagnosis and treatment to see child, adolescent, and adult-aged patients for in-person and telehealth appointments, as part of our team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists and therapists.
Job responsibilities include: Review patients’ medical history and collect additional information from family members and therapists/ psychologists as needed; Evaluate patients’ emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysis; Identify mental disorders and determine best treatments; Develop therapy plans; Prescribe medications; Analyze medical tests and track patients’ progress; Coordinate with healthcare professionals when hospitalization is required; Advise patients on how to cope with mental diseases and emotional breakdowns; Support patients’ loved ones and inform them about the patient’s condition; Expectation of ongoing research on medical issues and new medical treatments to keep current on your knowledge on mental healthcare.
Skills
- Work experience as a Psychiatrist
- In-depth knowledge of various psycho-therapeutic methods
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience
- Strong observation skills to accurately evaluate patients’ demeanor and identify symptoms
- A great bedside manner and the ability to remain calm, empathetic and patient while interacting with patients who are in distress
- Thoughtful and compassionate personality
- MD or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
- Residency program in Adult Psychiatry
- Fellowship program in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Certification from the American Board Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)

Seeking: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (posted 3/30/21)
In 2019, SFIM formed a nurse practitioner clinic that offers patients high quality, insurance-based integrative mental health services. We seek to hire a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to work in our insurance-based clinic to see child, adolescent, and adult-aged patients for in-person and telehealth appointments.
Job responsibilities include: Psychiatric and addiction evaluations, crisis response, differential diagnosis contextualized to concurrent medical conditions and complex decision-making, individualized treatment planning, psychiatric medical management, and medication assisted treatment for substance abuse disorders; Provide advice and consultation on general health care needs of patients both for patients and in teams; Communicate and manage care collaboratively with other treating physicians including both primary care and specialty care providers; Respond promptly to client needs; Maintain documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, quarterly treatment plan reviews, and other required information in compliance with agency and third party compliance standards.
Extensive knowledge of: the etiology of serious mental illness, developmental, and substance abuse disorders and their treatment by a variety of appropriate therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacology; nursing practice and medical evaluation; physical diseases and their treatment; community resources and networking techniques; and of psychiatric and medical emergency stabilization.
Skills
- Work experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN);
- Board Certified in Psychiatric Mental Health (PMHNP-BC);
- In-depth knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to a non-medical audience;
- Strong observation skills to accurately evaluate patients’ demeanor and identify symptoms;
- A great bedside manner and the ability to remain calm, empathetic and patient while interacting with patients who suffer from severe mental disorders;
- Thoughtful and compassionate personality;
- Collaboration agreement and insurance panel credentialing provided, as needed.
