Coping with Anxiety for Children and Parents

This dual 10-week program aims to help children cope with anxiety while helping parents learn about anxiety and how to better aid their children when anxiety is present.

Parents will attend an educational and supportive group that focuses on healthy ways to navigate anxiety and the challenges of parenting a child with anxiety. Practicing these skills in a group setting will help parents feel more empowered and prepared to handle their child’s distress while still caring for themselves.

Concurrent to the parents’ group, children will attend an educational and interactive workshop that familiarizes them with anxiety and ways to gradually overcome their fears. Children will practice healthy coping strategies to manage anxious situations and become more comfortable interacting and socializing with their peers in their daily lives at home and at school.
